Course Description
The aim of this course is to prepare students to develop teachers’ professional morality. After that, they can give their students ‘whole-person’ education by integrating teachers’ instruction, their model and their environment. The experience and the development of teacher’s professional morality are fully represented in the different relationships in their work, including facing themselves, their colleagues, students, students’ parents and society. The content of this course includes learning different principles of teachers’ professional ethics, and how to use and develop these theories reasonably in their teaching lives.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Describe the concepts of a profession, and teaching as a profession.
CILO-2: Identify the principles and components of teachers' professional ethics.
CILO-3: Describe the practice of professional ethics and the codes in the Chinese societies across the Strait.
CILO-4: Examine the meaning and the recent development of teachers' professional development and its relationship with professional ethics.
CILO-5: Reflect and support the concepts of professional ethics and teachers' professional development in their teaching career as a professional.
CILO-6: Recognize the need for teachers' continuing professional development.
