Course Description
Modern pottery has become a creative art form with practical as well as aesthetic values. The course aims at equipping students with the knowledge and skills of pottery-making to express through adoption of traditional pottery-making techniques in creating artifacts the aesthetic interest and taste of contemporary man and to make it part of their aesthetic life.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: To understand pottery art as a form of visual culture, which evidences man’s creativity in living in and with nature (using clay to create objects of practical and aesthetic values).
CILO-2: To develop their sensibility for appreciating life through making small potteries.
CILO-3: To get acquainted with the basic techniques for sculpting, color-painting and firing potteries as well as with some methods for visualizing their feelings towards and aesthetic senses of life.
CILO-4: Appreciation of pottery as an art form.
