Course Description
Piano skill is a basic requirement for most music learning because piano playing offers the fundamental concept to music theory and music-making. The course aims to teach the elementary concepts and practical skills on piano playing. The course for piano beginners comprises note-reading on staff and keyboard, fingering, scales, chords, and music terms. Students are required to play six to eight pieces of piano repertoire from different styles to demonstrate their mastery of skill. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate their piano–playing skills at the Pre-Grade 1 to Grade 2 level (ABRSM). Students are not allowed to take Piano II simultaneously.
