The major goal of this course is to get students familiar with frontier research in selected areas in economics and to motivate them to begin their own research.

CILO-1: Analyze complex economic systems and phenomena, including their underlying principles and mechanisms. CILO-2: Evaluate economic policies and their impacts on various stakeholders, and to identify potential trade-offs and unintended consequences. CILO-3: Apply economic models to real-world problems, and to critically assess the assumptions and limitations of different models. CILO-4: Communicate the economic analysis effectively, both in writing and through oral presentations, using appropriate technical terminology and data visualization techniques.
