Course Description
Integrating theory and practice, this capstone course is designed for final year Communication Major students to design and implement a campaign event. It offers them hands-on experiences that include fund-raising, budget control, event planning and team-working. Finally it provides ample opportunities for applying academic learning to real-life contexts.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify event planning theories and concepts.
CILO-2: Articulate and perform the responsibilities of a Public Relations (PR) agency in an industry setting.
CILO-3: Demonstrate skills in the following list: budgeting, fund-raising, event logistics planning, very important person (VIP) receptions, pre-event and post-event PR, promotion strategy, media relation building, press release writing, social media writing and public engagement, venue settings, promotion materials design and production, event moderation, crisis management, and event evaluation.
CILO-4: Demonstrate ethics, accountability, and constructive criticism in teamwork.
CILO-5: Evaluate the effectiveness of communication tactics, and make necessary adjustments.
