Course Description
Multimedia is an interactive composite of text, graphic, sound, video and animation elements. This advanced level course adopts a 'multiple media' approach to journalism. Students will learn to present news verbally, visually and above all, interactively, using new media formats.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify and describe theories of media and journalism in an oral discussion.
CILO-2: Evaluate contemporary and culturally-specific new media journalistic practices in an essay.
CILO-3: Analyze the relations between new media and other forms of journalism in a literature review.
CILO-4: Apply theories of digital and social media to the practice of journalism in class.
