Course Description
This course teaches advanced public relations, dealing with theories of management function and public relations practices. It covers media relations, issues management, and organization-public relationships. It investigates representative public relations cases, with a particular focus on explaining and evaluating theories, strategies, and tactics.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Recognize public relations as a process with planning being the essential part of it.
CILO-2: Identify and define the most important Public Relations (PR) issues/strategies that affect and are used in planning and executing PR events/programs/campaigns.
CILO-3: Familiarize with the relevant literature of PR planning.
CILO-4: Recognize and apply relevant PR theories/principles/concepts/strategies in analyzing and dealing with PR problems/issues in relation to public relations planning and execution.
CILO-5: Develop descriptive, analytical, evaluative and critical thinking abilities so as to be able to examine how contemporary organizations build up their public relations strategies, set up their PR goals, and organize their PR events/programs/campaigns for them to be effective.
CILO-6: Plan, design and implement PR events/program/campaigns for chosen organizations.
