This course introduces students to the possibilities of digital graphics and provides them an education in the history of graphic design. Students will learn practical techniques in a variety of software; and they will concurrently be introduced to the history of graphic design and aesthetic theory. Emphasis will be placed on creatively experimenting with digital means of production.

CILO-1: Acknowledge, appreciate and follow the development and advancement of digital graphics technologies. CILO-2: Recognize the basic principles of graphic design, digital imaging, visual images, typography, colour and layout for digital means of production. CILO-3: Illustrate with the use of software program to create imagery for artistic or design work. CILO-4: Develop their own visual language and problem-solving skills with application to digital graphics. CILO-5: Create well-designed digital graphics projects to convey their idea and concept. Complete their own portfolio with diversified graphic design productions.
