Course Description
This course introduces students to the possibilities of digital graphics and provides them an education in the history of graphic design. Students will learn practical techniques in a variety of software; and they will concurrently be introduced to the history of graphic design and aesthetic theory. Emphasis will be placed on creatively experimenting with digital means of production.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Acknowledge, appreciate and follow the development and advancement of digital graphics technologies.
CILO-2: Recognize the basic principles of graphic design, digital imaging, visual images, typography, colour and layout for digital means of production.
CILO-3: Illustrate with the use of software program to create imagery for artistic or design work.
CILO-4: Develop their own visual language and problem-solving skills with application to digital graphics.
CILO-5: Create well-designed digital graphics projects to convey their idea and concept. Complete their own portfolio with diversified graphic design productions.
