Course Description
This course introduces students to key aspects of new media and networked applications. Topics include new media landscape, multimedia content ad applications, and cross-media technologies.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify the key objectives and meanings of new media in today’s fast-paced world.
CILO-2: Demonstrate technological competence for the online environment.
CILO-3: Evaluate major issues in the production, transcoding, storing, distribution and consumption of information and multimedia contents across platforms.
CILO-4: Determine the selection and use of new media, with the ability to present about different types of digital media.
CILO-5: Analyze messages in today’s digital environment as part of students’ life-long learning competence, and effectively assess the new forms of mediation.
CILO-6: Examine the phenomena, if not culture, emerging from the everyday use of digital media in various settings.
CILO-7: Recognize and describe the “dark sides” of using new media and make the possible responses.
