This is an introductory course that aims to provide an overview of the discipline of medicinal administration to the students. With an integrative vision of pharmacy and social science, the principles of and knowledge about modern pharmacy management, the approaches to medicinal management analysis, and the applications of evidence-based policy development and strategic planning in medicinal administration will be explained and discussed in details. Real-world case study in areas such as global drug research and development and drug-related laws and regulations (local, national and international) will be used to support the transformation of basic knowledge to practical skills. The students will also be supported to develop practical writing and presentation skills as important tools to communicate effectively about medicinal administration at international level.

CILO-1: Explain the concept and the application of medicinal administration. CILO-2: Differentiate and appraise the interdisciplinary research methodology in medical administration. CILO-3: Identify the sources of data and perform data analysis for policy development and strategy planning in medical administration. CILO-4: Operate the basic principles of case analysis and to apply analytical skills and knowledge in the case analysis in medical administration. CILO-5: Employ a problem-orientated approach to real-world problems in medical administration.
