The objective of this course is to provide an overview of progress in contemporary study of Chinese medicine. The course will consist of a series of lectures based on the specific disciplines of Chinese medicine research, focusing on immunopharmacology, tumor pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, toxicology, chemistry and medicinal pharmacy, etc. Academic staff in ICMS or guest speakers will provide lectures in their areas of expertise, and each is responsible for respective course objectives. This course will also have a journal club component, which will enable students to read and present a scientific journal article related to the course. Pre-requisite: None

CILO-1: Articulate the latest scientific research advancements in Chinese medicine using appropriate terminology. CILO-2: Analyze and interpret current trends in Chinese medicine research, applying reliable sources to explain the observed patterns. CILO-3: Summarize information from various sources to propose potential future directions for research in Chinese medicine.
