Many aspects of costal environmental process involve in-depth understanding of aquatic chemistry principles. In addition, aquatic chemistry knowledge is of vital importance to pollution control and remediation in coastal areas. Water chemistry and chemical reactions are therefore important in both engineered treatment processes and in natural systems in which wastes may be attenuated.

CILO-1: Apply knowledge of principles in both natural environment and engineering processes related to aquatic chemistry. CILO-2: Quantify the key parameters associate with the fate and transport of pollutant in aquatic environment. CILO-3: Identify the key operational procedures and knowhow related to the practical aspects of aquatic chemical analysis including sampling, preservation, and quality control.
