This course is designed to enable students to learn the database and data mining concepts and techniques for big data analytics and development in different domains. The course concentrates on the practical issues of database and data mining for solving big data problems. The content includes data modeling in database and data warehouse, introduction to database management system and data mining applications. Students will learn the skills of database modeling, querying, and programming, as well as the use of database management system and data mining applications.

CILO-1: Define and describe the fundamental concepts of databases, database management systems, data models, and data mining.
CILO-2: Design and instantiate database schema using the entity-relationship (E-R) data model, and apply SQL queries to the database.
CILO-4: Describe and implement data preparation pipelines for machine learning applications.
