Course Description
This course covers various methods of transferring payments over the Internet and compares their functionality. Topics include electronic money, electronic contracts, micro-payments, authenticity, integrity and reliability of transactions, the encryption and digital signature techniques needed to support electronic cash, and the technologies available to support secure transactions on the Internet.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Access and evaluate the effectiveness and the security of each transaction in electronic payment systems.
CILO-2: Evaluate the limitations of different types of e-payment systems and access their security risks in the analysis and design of electronic payment systems.
CILO-3: Apply different types of e-payment mechanisms, such as e-payment protocols, account transfer, electronic cash, micropayment, electronic trade to build up an e-payment system.
