Course Description
The course provides an overview of the principles of E-Commerce. Topics include the origin and growth of E-Commerce, technologies that support the development of E-Commerce applications, business models and strategies for E-Commerce, Legal issues related to E-Commerce such as privacy, consumer rights, and intellectual property.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Evaluate and analyse the impact on operational needs, capabilities, opportunities and challenges in the design of an efficient and effective e-commerce models and their operations.
CILO-2: Communicate effectively by presenting and evaluating e-business proposals backed by empirical data, using appropriate terminology and visual aids in both written and oral formats.
CILO-3: Work as team participants effectively, to participate collaboratively and responsibly in teams, and reflect on their own teamwork, and on the team’s processes and ability to achieve outcomes.
CILO-4: Apply ethical and professional principles in developing and implementing e-business practice, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
CILO-5: Assess and compare organizational readiness to set up and support an e-commerce operation serving international markets.
CILO-6: Formulate effective e-commerce strategy so to stay competitive in domestic and global markets with examples and case studies analyzed.
