The course introduces Distributed DBMS architecture, distributed database design, semantic data control, distributed query processing, distributed transaction management, distributed concurrency control, distributed DBMS reliability, database interoperability, e-commerce application development and deployment with HTML, Web server, Java applet, CORBA, JavaBean, and DB server technologies.

CILO-1: Analyse the principles and concepts of distributed database systems and their importance in modern computing. CILO-2: Develop distributed database designs using appropriate techniques and methodologies. CILO-3: Evaluate different approaches to distributed query processing, optimization, and concurrency control. CILO-4: Assess the reliability and security of distributed database systems and apply appropriate techniques to ensure their robustness.
