Course Description
This course introduces the fundamentals of digital image processing for senior undergraduate students. It emphasizes the general principles and techniques of image processing. Topics include digital image fundamentals, intensity transformations and spatial filtering, filtering in the frequency domain, image restoration and reconstruction, color image processing, wavelets and multiresolution processing, image compression and watermarking, morphological image processing, image segmentation, representation and description.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: An ability to interpret and describe the fundamental concepts and applications of digital image processing.
CILO-2: An ability to interpret and describe the concepts of and how to perform intensity transformations and spatial filtering.
CILO-3: An ability to interpret and describe the relationship between Filtering in the spatial and frequency domains.
