Course Description
This course provides an overview of database architecture, database system and management design, which covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of the relational model. Topics include an in-depth study of relational database model, fundamentals of database design techniques, structured query language (SQL), schema refinement and normal forms, storage and various indexing techniques. The course also includes a study of a commercially available database system and database application programming.
