介紹由古希臘直至現代的西方重要文學作品，包括戲劇、詩歌、散文和小說等各種體裁，包括古典主義、浪漫主義、象徵主義、現實主義、自然主義、現代主義、後現代主義等各流派的作品。重點介紹荷馬、古希臘三大悲劇家、但丁、歌德、荷爾德林、莎士比亞、雪萊、華茲華斯、陀斯妥也夫斯基、艾略特、普魯斯特、福克納、昆德拉、卡爾維納等西方文學名家。課程亦會對中西方文學作品進行比較分析，播放外國文學名著改編的電影錄影。
