課程旨在讓學生充分認識和瞭解港澳豐富多彩的語言現象及其產生的政治、經濟和文化的原因，並以語用學的理論從不同角度分析其現象及規律，引導學生對港澳語言研究的興趣，並提高學生在社會實踐中正確運用語言的能力。
