Course Description
This course is designed for students who would like to learn Chinese as a foreign language, as well as those whose mother tongue/language is neither Mandarin nor any other Chinese dialect. It aims to develop oral skills and vocabulary knowledge in preparation for students to conduct day-to-day conversations with confidence. Situational dialogues, pronunciation drills, and comprehension exercises will strengthen students’ competence in conversational skills. This course will allow students to gain access to the rich opportunities available to Chinese speakers.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Be able to comprehend the spoken Chinese and satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.
CILO-2: Be able to converse with commend of appropriate vocabulary and complex linguistic structures.
CILO-3: Be able to give and understand complicated, detailed, and extensive directions and make non‐routine changes in such situations as travel and accommodation arrangements.
