Course Description
The course aims to introduce to students the composition and institutional framework of the Asian Financial Market. It discusses the basic structure of the money and banking system and the capital market of the major Asian and South-East Asian economies. It enables students to understand the causes and implications of the Asian Financial Turmoil.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: After the course, students should demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of major financial markets in Asia, their history, development, governing institutions, the contributions to the takeoff of these economies and the Asian Financial Crisis. Students could be able to show their understanding on the governance and structural issues relevant to the development of Asian financial markets such as debt, equity, foreign exchange and derivative markets.
