Course Description
Introduction of commonly used materials characterization technologies, including their theory of operation, hands-on experience, the measurement process and instrumental analysis of samples.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to describe the concepts and principles on instrumentation for materials characterization.
CILO-2: Students will be able to operate the instruments, such as SEM, TEM, AFM, and XRD, smoothly.
CILO-3: Students will be able to apply the instruments in specific applications, such as composition analysis, failiure test, and in-situ test.
CILO-4: Students will be able to develop new instruments or parts according to the research / technological requirements.
